Ask HN: Where are all the cool architecture diagrams?

I am on the hunt for aesthetically pleasing tech architecture diagrams.

Can be any tech stack or process, doesn't matter if it's outdated.

Hope you folks know of some?

The stuff I'm finding on Google image search is so bland!

Anything isometric really appeals to my eye.

There was a company I saw a few years ago integrating isometric systems architecture diagrams with real-time health status.

It could’ve been something like https://www.cloudcraft.co/ but I didn’t bookmark it back then.

661+ cool architecture diagrams: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/architecture/browse/

Looks very pleasing. I wonder what they use to create these.

Probably Visio

I have long thought of making a software tool for interactive C4 diagrams [0], but just a few weeks ago a colleague has discovered IcePanel [1], which is exactly that.

Have a look at https://www.datamesh-architecture.com

Using icons makes a difference. created with draw.io sloppy style.

Someone posted that the other day and it looks pretty good:

How is this better than PowerPoint?

PowerPoint is a drawing/layout app, not a diagramming app, and if you create a chart with three load balanced nodes and want to change it to four you are in for 15 minutes of work.

Perhaps you’d like the Gruntwork reference architecture diagram made with CloudCraft:

Here's a few you might like: https://www.procustodibus.com/blog/tag/cloud/

I am on the hunt as well. This seems useful, not the prettiest but not the worst:

probably not what you're after -- there are some pretty cool maps of network infrastructure. think less "high level cartoon of logical architecture of web-app playing bingo with managed cloud services" and more "telecommunication network cables and equipment superimposed on geographical map of the area being served"

Draw.io is good and flexible

that's the problem with diagrams - they are outdated immediately
