America needs an actual plan to boost domestic energy

I've said this for 10+ years: A key step in an 100% renewable electric economy is energy independence in hydrocarbons. If a supplier sees you start to try to find an alternative to their product or service, they'll immediately undermine your efforts by bottoming out their prices to kill your project off.

OPEC has played this card at least three times in my lifetime and gullible Americans unfortunately fall for it.... meanwhile virtual-signalling hypocrite politicians (who own multiple 14 bedroom mansions) kill projects like the Keystore pipeline that could insulate the US from these people undermining our efforts.

There's no need for any plan as long as the barrel of oil sells for more than $100. The private enterprise will be more than happy to oblige. We'll wait and see, but I predict that in 2022, the US will increase its crude output by more than 2.5 million barrels/day, i.e. twice the IEA prediction under the high price scenario [1].

I had to stop reading after these comically misleading statements.

For one, gasoline was already costing almost double under Biden than it did under Trump, long before the attack on Ukraine. Biden and this author can do all they want to shift the blame to Russia for inflation and high gas prices, and yes that situation had contributed, but that just doesn’t mesh with what really happened and it’s amazing they’re playing this angle so soon when the past year of high-priced everything due to inflation and high priced gas due to inflation as well as Biden’s anti-oil policies and rhetoric literally existed for, well, a full year before the attacks.

Secondly, the ban on Russian oil was hugely bipartisan: 414-17.

That would require an educated populace and a functioning government, which we don’t have.
