I grew up with Napster, Morpheus, KazaA, eDonkey/eMule. never ever bought music.

recently i bought a music CD for the first time. I really liked the artist. Was surprised to find:

- a complete booklet of all track lyrics

- some additional behind the scenes content

- hidden tracks

- no DRM, I can simply lend it to ppl.

- if need be Windows Media Player will rip to mp3

- a good feeling from sunk cost and my willingness to repeat this

There is a reason that CD/DVD sales in Japan are still going strong.
