Following the oud through the history of Armenian music

If you want to hear some modern examples of oud-based jazz:

Anouar Brahem - Bom dia Rio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noYCkiPrqS8

Dhafer Youssef - Les Ondes Orientales: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9INsERNFUo

Slightly of topic but Armenian music made a really strong impression on me.

I had zero knowledge of Armenian culture and music but when I first heard a duduk concert, I think I had about 45 min of continous goosebumps, a very unexpected and intense experience.

If you want to hear an oud in “modern” music: Out of Time by Blur.

It’s a 20 year old song at this point.
