PSA: Studio Display Stands Are Not Interchangeable

Ok, I’m just going to be blunt, fuck you Apple, for the cost of an perhaps an extra couple of millimetres and the inclusion of a VESA mount’s worth of anodised aluminium in each of the cheap and expensive monitor stands you could have made this a universal monitor unit… this is a stupid choice that hurts the long term value of the hardware and it’s indicative of the continuing legacy of I’ve and the form over function assholes.

It’s the rear of the monitor, some nice pan head screws holding a very well designed VESA brackets from each stand into the monitor would have looked fine… hell it would have looked just as nice as it does without, but no, we can’t waste 5c worth of aluminium on the monitor stand we sell for over $500…

So once again… fuck you Apple.
