"Noam Chomsky was the most conspicuous American intellectual to rationalize the Al Qaeda terrorist attacks on New York and Washington. The death toll, he argued, was minor compared to the list of Third World victims of the “far more extreme terrorism” of United States foreign policy."

Chomsky's comment here is neither false nor rationalising the attacks. I am not a particular fan of Chomsky (but I am on "the left") but this article is an especially weak attack on him.

It is from 2003, it should be in the title i guess.

> They were still adamant that the United States, who they claimed started it all, bore the brunt of the blame [of the Cambodian Genocide]. In short, Chomsky still refused to admit how wrong he had been over Cambodia.

wow, I had thought this was just a mistake on his part, but this is truly heinous. lost all respect for this person
