From what I've heard about chimps, are we sure they were "giving medicine" rather than "attempting unsuccessfully to poison"? :)

Apparently a mother was seen applying an insect to her child. I doubt she would purposefully poison her own offspring.

They're pretty similar concepts. Either way, they're administering drugs to affect health.
