The Olympics should be better than this in my opinion.
I think so too, but the IOC explicitly say it's due to pressure from other athletes who'd boycott otherwise ( and i see their point). Maybe if Russia hadn't gotten away with the doping there would have been more leniency..
I think you should let these athletes boycott the games in that case. Make them pay instead of demanding it from others. Would lead to a statement I could believe. It isn't particularly brave on their part and not what sports should stand for.
Doping would change this of course. It is an even more egregious violation of what sports should be.
