Tomorrow there will be televised lessons for all schools in Russia about Special Military Operation. This is material to assist teachers in Q&A session after lesson (google translate your friend) https://meduza.io/feature/2022/03/03/kogda-ty-vstupish-v-sov...

There is also presentation (maybe it's what will be televised), but it's pictures: https://potsreotizm-new.livejournal.com/8673054.html

From what I saw in recent discussions on ycombinator there is a bit of misunderstanding about informational blackout in Russia. This is newsfeed from RIA for past few day, google translated. It's closely correlates with TV news.

It's expected that on 2/4 there will be passed law about spreading disinformation about special military operation, punishable by 15years and maybe also martial law to further tighten access to information and suppress dissent

It looks kinda funny how from their representation of the events Russia does absolutely nothing while the rest of the world suddenly started to harass it. It looks exactly like USSR 2.0.

Also "Benefits for IT-companies will slow down an outflow of personnel from Russia, an expert said". Mhm.

people are afraid there that like in ussr there will be russian "visa" in order to go abroad. this will essentially prevent IT personal leaving.

like Yakob Smirnov's joke about the Soviet Express card's tagline: don't leave home

lol. but actually it's sad. we have office over there and one of the guys got just stamped his and his wifes passports in some other country and got them mailed back. he got his passport first week ago (magic on dhl) and yesterday he had to literally escape abroad without wife because chances that there will be mobilization are too high...

a lot of good people gonna get stuck there in case "Exit visa" will be a thing

I'm American but speak enough Russian to read social media with frequent trips to the dictionary. Where should I go to talk with Russians and how they're seeing Putin's actions?

I won't know where you can go in order to get representative sample. But in general those are the main archetypes

- People that are absolutely horrified. I saw more than once expression "i ashamed to be russian. i now understand how germans felt after wwii and their guilt generation later"

- Totally oblivious to what is happening. In case they are shown footage of bombings they will say it's western fake

- Kinda realize what happening but say "donbass was 8 years under shelling, now it's their time"

- People who say "we are not interested in war or politics. can't we just finish conquering Ukraine so sanctions will end" (seriously)

- People who know exactly what is happening and happy about this. "Long overdue. Should have been done in 2014"

- People who really happy that there are sanctions because it will allow them to finally build independent from west country (lol)
