University students are living in cheap hotels to “cheat” landlords

Here I fixed the title:

“Landlords charging more for rent than a hotel”

What a non story, shock it's better value for money getting a hotel insfead of renting a place, when you're only staying over twice a week..

True but someone had to think of the idea. This wasn’t really a thing that people talked about doing until her TT blew up.

The choice was always framed as “live at home but miss out on campus life” and she was like “hey, I found a way to do both.” The idea is really only obvious in hindsight.

So living at parents place and then visiting only a few days... Makes perfect sense, but it is in no way cheating landlords.

Yeah for sure I was just struck by the simple brilliance of it. Of course even the ability to live at home and attend college is a privilege many folks don't have access to these days.
