Ask HN: what's the best way to market my product to startups?
I've tried contacting the big startup blogs (TechCrunch, Mashable, and a couple others) but it seems they're not interested in small-scale bootstrapped projects like mine (I didn't get even a single reply).
I've contacted incubators, coworking spaces, etc. directly but also with a pretty low reply rate. And I've also thought about advertising, but it seems pretty costly ($1000 for a campaign targeting startup blogs on InfluAds, for example) and more like something I should do at a later stage.
My best lead so far has been Quora. If your product can appear as one of the top answers for the question you are solving, you'll get very targeted traffic that converts extremely well.
But I'm completely new to this whole marketing aspect (I'm a designer by trade), so I'd love more ideas.
