They left out the part about how we're all going to be vegans, except for the old guard who can eat bugs and pretend it's beef.
Also, next time you send flame bait like this, mention how our cryptocurrency will not be usable except for healthy things the government wants us to buy.
dang said it was flamewar bait, which it was.
So long as we still have the right to own a patch of this earth, not an apartment or a timeshare or etc. etc., but a lot of land, we will be able to talk about some kind of actual freedom. Because land doesn't depend on anyone or anything except the earth's outer mantle, and so whatever you put on your plot you control, including your person, and so you are free.
Do you really want some communal, self-driving taxi with no personality taking you around? Who and how often are these going to be cleaned? Imagine you are on your way to a nice date and ride pulls up and there some gross McDonald’s bags on the floor, or a dirty diaper, or used condom. People are fucking gross and there is a large group of them that won’t or can’t have common decency to clean up after themselves. When “everyone” owns something then nobody owns it, and nobody takes proper care of it (sure there might be some company tasked with maintenance but they will only do just enough to keep it barely acceptable).
I mean you lose so much just by giving up vehicle ownership alone. What about the sense of pride you get when change the oil, wash, vacuum, and then put the windows down cruise around and turn up your favorite song? You aren’t ever getting any of that ever again.
No thanks, hard pass.
Besides that, why not compare this with rental cars?
You'd probably order this by app on you smart gadget. Car from pool of (just recently) free cars arrives. You check it, see/feel/smell/tell something icky, check NOPE! on the app, signal for next car. Meanwhile former renter gets negative points for leaving dirty car, points accumulate, raise dirty renters rates accordingly. Nudge, nudge, problem solved...
"Author's note: Some people have read this blog as my utopia or dream of the future. It is not. It is a scenario showing where we could be heading - for better and for worse. I wrote this piece to start a discussion about some of the pros and cons of the current technological development. When we are dealing with the future, it is not enough to work with reports. We should start discussions in many new ways. This is the intention with this piece."
Apparently it's a speculative fiction. Reads like an Onion article with a very trigger happy hook, which is why I guess a lot of people like to pass it as NWO propaganda.
I get why you might think that based on today's world, but this world seems deliberately utopian. Although it claims it isn't.
The vision seems incoherent in that respect. It can't seem to decide if it's a utopian vision or a vision of where current trends are taking us.
Certainly kinder than the current infrastructure of bullshit jobs.
