If she wants it done so badly, then why doesn't she do it? Seem like if you're being serious about being kicked out, then this is really a power play.
Re: getting kicked out was an exaggeration, and this original comment was more a "i need to do the small daily things to keep my wife happy because that really is the most important thing I can be doing at this moment, not procrasti-working and reading HN". It was more toungue-in-cheek than anything.
By the way: I DID finally clean the garage and it looks wonderful, so crisis averted.
