Ask HN: Best strategy for friend, Project Manager wanting remote?

Hi HN, I have a friend who is a phenomenal project manager for a well established company. She's wanting to go remote but the current company she works for is inflexible or just behind the curve. Should she try to transition to product management? Or find a community that hires project managers (which one)?
