U.S. to allow advanced headlights after Toyota petition

I cannot speak for Toyota, but mid 2021 build US Teslas and onward have this hardware that will be activated with a software update (you can test a Tesla for this functionality by running light show from the toy box; if “TESLA” is projected from the headlights, they are hardware capable).

Perhaps something by the end of 2023. So it took a full decade for them to act!
