Ask HN: Where have all my buttons gone?

I have been absent from HN for quite some time now and on my return it kind of beats me that all the upvote and downvote buttons for posts and comments have all disappeared. Is this peculiar to me, maybe because I have not been active on the site or is it sitewide?
