Oddly, an insightful comment.
What does a company that actually cares about my well-being and future success look like?

You can't combine capitalism with care for humans.
Define desperate…
Hiring executives are largely divorced from the recruiting process.
Instead, they task low-level HR flunkies with identifying, assessing, and attracting talent.
Good talent constantly get overlooked, rejected, or more frequently turned-off.
We're trying to hire for an entry level full stack position, but the candidate pool is not ideal: only one bootcamp, dabbled in Java or Python while in high school, only want to pick one side to develop in (frontend or backend, not both).
We are not going to hire any of these people. I can't teach them programming while also trying to fix bugs and add features. We'll most likely be taking the job post down and will try again in the summer.
