2. tabs / tablature are chord arrangements are an alternative to sheet music for learning to play songs on bass, guitar, ukulele, harmonic and other instruments, re: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tablature
3. Breeze is a topic search engine that draws from Bing, Google, &/or live scrapes; our most noted search engine to date is for VC blogs over at AskAnything.vc, which was an early experiment
4. Breeze's main domain is https://breezethat.com/, which will be where most topics will be released -- our current cadence is about one new topic / week
5. We're fully bootstrapped, and we are currently experimenting with various launch channels for specific topics, such as today's very so-so showing on Product Hunt (!), re: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/breeze-guitar-tabs-search-...
6. I'm the founder -- you may know me as @DotDotJames on Twitter -- my PhD dissertation was on making math for search engines faster -- my user name here on HN is derived from that work around creating efficient canonical labelings and how it applies in certain linear algebraic contexts
7. if you read this far -- Breeze is basically deep reddit -- we'll be unveiling community features very soon, along with our plan for assuring user privacy as we evolve forward -- for example, this will include disclosing the key sources for each topic and some sort of red / yellow / green indicator if that particular topic search is fully privatized
8. as an example, guitar tab search is derived from Google and while we don't track you, ymmv with Google CSEs, whereas AskAnything.vc is Bing based (as are very many alt search engines). Most of the real-time shopping searches in our pipeline are scraped by us, often with YaCY and fully privacy protecting.
9. Our stack is basically Eleventy + Bootstrap + Cloudflare + Bing / Google / YaCY, where the hosting combo is Cloudflare + Bing / Google + Digital Ocean for YaCY.
10. I wrote most of the code, it's pretty basic and intentionally so for lots of reasons -- partly bandwidth & we're obsessively interested in fast load times -- some glaring errors we need to fix is that our img tags for breakpoints & shift Font Awesome to a self-hosted subset & same for Bootstrap. Fortunately, static site pages on Cloudflare is insanely fast, so that's backlogged atm.
11. Our accessibility is pretty meh atm -- I specifically initiated a major step of fixing that today, more as develops
12. fire away & thanks for letting me mostly hang back these past few years
13. Baker's dozen -- happy Friday / Saturday!
