The first real game I fell in love with was the Activision & Pandemic remakes of Battlezone in to a FPS / RTS hybrid.

I recall the introvideo had a little nod to the original battlezone.

That was a brilliant and underrated game imo. I sunk days in to that game. It had a reasonably high learning curve compared to the other FPS or RTS games of the time, but when you could see beyond that wall it was brilliant. I only ever wished it could be bigger!

C&C Renegade was _similar_.

I loved that game as well .. .such an interesting mix of FPS & RTS. Looks like a remastered version was released on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/624970/Battlezone_Combat_...
