A typical academic report with a huge blind spot. The work focuses on the opioid supply chain. But there would be no supply without demand. They completely overlook the demand side: why do so many people want to take opioids? It’s pretty clear they’re experiencing physical pain and/or mental and emotional suffering. Why not look into what is causing such huge demand? Typical backwards logic——“The floggings will continue until morale improves.”
