Having a as long as possible todo list with easily achievable tasks and a nice big button to check them as done. That has worked the best so far for me.
People think these two are incompatible and that's not true. This issue shows how to combine or alternate between the two of them.
I switch between the two all the time. I use Pomo to get me into the eventual Deep work.
