Ask HN: What's the most valuable thing that AI has generated?

Inflated expectations since the 1960s. Still going strong.

Pure monetary value: targeted ads (Google, Facebook)

Human attention: recommendation systems (TikTok)

Health/biology: protein structure prediction (AlphaFold/DeepMind)

Manufacturing: computer vision (no single company dominates here)

If you're talking about money, targeted ads and attention grabbing algorithms maybe.

If you're talking about added value to our lives, probably better disease detection (computer vision models for cancer detection etc...), or maybe energy saving

Google, Facebook

But if you define corporations as non-digital AI, you basically start in East India Company, and try to valuate positive outcomes vs. negative outcomes for the entire human civilization across a couple of hundred of years.

It seems to be one of those creative destruction goals. Quite often the tools being spun off are cool and get repurposed for other things while the goal remains elusive.

Like Lisp originally.
