Maizzle is a full framework. Mailwind is a just a simple way to use Tailwind CSS in HTML emails (and optionally inlining them).
Could you elaborate? I'm currently looking for a solution to build email with Tailwind CSS.
So, with Maizzle you can do more things?
This is useful. As tailwind team is very active, I won't be surprised if they decide to embed an official tool like this one.
I love this! Tailwind has been a genuine revelation for me; moving away from CSS and provind styles that "just work" is fantastic. CSS in email was the last area I had to use regular-old CSS.
I’ve tried to move to tailwind, and I don’t hate it, but I’ve concluded that inline styles are effectively the same and we should just skip tailwind in favour of inline. I’m sure there’s something wrong with this thinking, but I’m not sure what?
I think of tailwind as a DSL on top of css. It's got convenient shorthand and sane defaults where as css does not. Where it fails is the coupling between tailwind and whatever it is you are designing.
Can you elaborate on that last statement?
How can you not tell inline cannot use media queries?
It's hard to think how people think classes are same as inlines when responsive designs are the norm.
Not to mention pure css are way longer to type.
Thank you! Same here. I just found it very cumbersome to write CSS for my emails, so I had the idea to create this.
Can you rely on desktop and mobile email clients to render modern CSS consistently now or it's still something to watch out for?
Wouldn't be surprised if every email client use a Chromium, WebKit, or variant webview.
No. Even in web mail clients you still can’t use so many things that you would expect to. And last I checked, outlook still supports just about nothing
I have nothing useful to say. But name is extremely smart/clever. Very nice.
It could even be a good name for a smtp provider as well :)
