Is it open source? I am trying to make my own language version as well, but have not found a simple client side app to base it on.

It's built with React, Typescript and Tailwind CSS and it's trivial even for beginners to modify and adapt the source. The readme also has a tutorial on how to translate it to your (natural) language of choice.
