Here are the two forms being offered for a pipe operator:
const y = h(g(f(x))); // no pipe
const y = x |> f(%) |> g(%) |> h(%); // Hack pipe
const y = x |> f |> g |> h; // F# pipe
Why not use concatenation? const y = x f g h;
