Ask HN: Does Nasdaq volatility make life difficult for startups?

The Nasdaq is quite volatile, as of late. How significant is this event for the typical startup venture? As an example, i am asking as a programmer: is it advisable to join a round-B stage startup venture at this moment in time? Is it more difficult for a startup to raise capital, because of this volatility?
