Ask HN: Best chat app to replace RocketChat?

Hey y’all. I have a service over at Seeking Alpha, and they use RocketChat for chat, and it is beyond awful under normal circumstances, and also going down frequently in the last two weeks. Any suggestions for something close to a drop-in replacement?

[Edit] Currently looking at Element.io. Any thoughts on that? Based on matrix.org.
