The inventor of Playstation thinks the metaverse is pointless

The metaverse certainly has its place. The other night my brother and I played 45 holes of mini-golf. At 9pm. And he lives 700 miles away.

We were playing in VR and the experience was immersive enough that it was like we were hanging out together with the combination of voice chat and avatars that look like us with moving mouths when we talk.

But I’m not sure I’d just hang out there all day.
