U. of Michigan president fired for inappropriate relationship with uni employee

So "inappropriate" seems to not be describing anything about the relationship itself, but his failure to disclose it to the university.

"Fired for keeping intimate relationship private" would be a more accurate title.

So why is now a consensual sexual affair with a subordinate "inappropriate". If the other party was married, he would have a good argument to hide it from the faculty. A rather common case on universities.

Rather the whistleblower should be punished to interfere into private affairs inappropriately. That's none of their business

Certainly UMich showed immeasurably more integrity than Stanford with that Saloner-Gruenfeld debacle.
