Ask HN: Is WASM Viable?

I haven't worked with WASM yet but the promise of being portable and performance are appealing. I'd like to be able to write something in Rust and have it run natively on either the client or server.

What's your opinion on WASM's viability? Are there any references of it being used in production successfully?
