So objectively it is black and blue. Of course, our eyes tricking us about color is hardly anything new... (brown is just orange with context!)

Gist of it is this: The dress is under a harsh sodium lamp, If you spent your formative years around those (a night owl in the years when lots of sodium lights were present), you would pick up the subtle cues in the photo that would tell you that the dress is black and blue. Those with less fun histories lack the ability to pick those cues out, and misidentify as white and gold (me included).

I see the dress as blue and gold, which was never even an option. But, I'm color blind.

I was equaly confused but in the opposite direction. No matter how many times I look at it, I can't see it other than black and blue, I certainly don't see any white or gold..
