Crazy, the amount of environmental damage flying these aircraft empty to maintain landing slots is criminal. Why not just pay to keep the landing slots and not fly.
My lucky guess is it'll be cheaper to have the planes in the air vs on the ground. IIRC every time a plane touches down its 10K$ and that rate for every X minutes it stays grounded.
The driving force for environmental damage has always been questionable business practices.
