Is that really the kind of report to expect from the Economist? I read the rest of the article, hoping for more explanation, but found none, and although it was as good, humanizing read, did nothing to dissuade me their chosen opening quote.

It's clearly a joke, and it was probably meant that the food they sell is nowhere near real authentic Chinese one could get in Hong Kong.
