What we really need is a high-bandwith linking apparatus of some sort... an enclosed cable that could connect directly from your headphones and then plug into your phones, so it could use it's own amp to provide an enjoyable HiFi experience on the go... We'll call it Apple Pro Link (alongside Pro Link Max, a 6ft extension cable) and sell it to you at the formidable price of $39.99.
