Tesla owner blew up Model S with dynamite rather than pay $22K to repair it

I have friends with model 3's all the way to Plaids and the story is the same. Bad customer service, bad build quality but the car is fun a hell to drive. Long road trips (in the US) expect 100 minutes of charging a day.

I'm still interested.

I wouldn't say Tesla is a luxury car though, especially in comparison with other cars in that price range.

if the car from 2013 drove a mere 900 miles, then it was not used much. How would the batteries have fared, when under constant use?

It was driven 900 miles during the ~1.5 years the current owner had it. Presumably the prior owner drove it more than zero miles before selling it.
