I suspect this is going to become a highly sought after skill. A well-developed intuition for folding is going to become incredibly important for all sorts of engineering problems. For example, someone like Verity may well be able to help improve the design of an unfurling space telescope[1] by using far fewer [redundant sets of] servos.
