Were we intelligent, remembering what Edward Jenner taught us, then we would have offered, at every drugstore, a nasal mist of these four common colds:

HCoV-229E, HCoV-OC43, HCoV-HKU1, HCoV-NL63.

Had we done this, things would be very different. We have forgotten Jenner.

My guess is that the injectable version is better than the mist, but I'm not a vaccination expert.

I hope that after the main part of the covid-19 pandemic passed and it's becomes endemic and with similar casualties than other covirus, there will be an anual shot for some combination of covirus and perhaps adenovirus. Something similar to the current flu vaccination that is mostly recommended for the very old, the very young and some risk groups.
