You say not true but the article says not enough data:

"The study finds no evidence of Omicron having lower severity than Delta, judged by either the proportion of people testing positive who report symptoms, or by the proportion of cases seeking hospital care after infection. However, hospitalisation data remains very limited at this time."

Emphasis on that last sentence.

The UK used a much higher percentage of AstraZeneca though (because it's produced there and was available first). Which is known to be less effective than Pfizer and Moderna against omikron.

I'm not saying it's not dangerous, just that the situation won't necessarily be exactly the same for other EU countries or the US.

Still, caution is very much warranted indeed.
