Celebrating 20 Years of Cube: An in-depth interview with Aardappel

Thought this was going to be about the movie series.

Thanks for this comment. Saved me a click.

Awesome movies, was just recommending them to my cousin last Friday.

And I wondered if it was about the Mac Cube, which came out about 20 years ago…

Not so long time ago, the main moderator of cube 2 (sauerbraten) died :(

Thanks for the good servers!

The cube2 cell data structure is one of those things that stays with you forever. An octree where the leaf node encodes edge lengths delta to a cube, allowing for practically free-form meshes.

One might imagine an alternate universe where Minecraft is inspired by cube2 instead of infiniminer.

I’ve spent countless hours playing insta-team on Venice. Any Linux distro which doesn’t include Sauerbraten in its package repo isn’t one worth using, IMO
