Ask HN: Are legacy systems for small biz dead?

It's been maybe 10 years since I helped a small workshop setup their customer and parts databases on DOSbox, it was clear, at the time, that the solution would serve them very well for years to come, they still use it, I've moved the DOSbox installation to new workstations a few times.

I know some industrial machinery is still running with legacy stuff, but what about office-type things like my little workshop?

Any stories?
