Git-of-Theseus – Analyze how a Git repo grows over time

It's not about growth per se, rather about churn and age of code base, and patterns of code authorship. Github insights may be faster and better designed, but this is self-hosted and can process any Git repo.

Steve Klabnik has applied it to rustc [1].

I remember quite some time ago a git visualization tool that drew a connected spring graph of commits over time, The nodes were classes (or maybe packages, i forget) and the links were annotated with commit author. You would see different areas of the graph get tons of activity at various times, and then activity die off and move somewhere else. I wish i remember what it was, was pretty cool.
