I would tentatively agree with you when it comes to accounting software. However, plenty of fintech apps have popped up over the years, mainly from cryptocurrency enthusiasts. I think even if these people had enough money, they would still go off inventing their own currencies or gambling in the stock market. Also, telecom middleware certainly has its fans in the SDR community and what remains of the world's phreakers.
