Kamikaze drones: A new weapon brings power and peril to the U.S. military

Meanwhile we're developing hypersonic cruise missiles & katana munitions... Sure they cost a lot & require a much bigger footprint to operate & deploy from. This is asymmetric. For sure.

But it's also not radically far apart. Some established self-destructing drone-weapons are already visually & historically recognizable/categorized as a legitemate & established weapon of state-sponsored violence. While emerging low-cost drone-weapons used by advanced persistent threats are not granted the same classification/view.
