Beijing Reins in China’s Central Bank

All sorts of independence is being strangled & crushed. Business freedoms curtailed, HK's two systems promise being shredded to bits. Foreign investment cut off. Beijing is demanding again and again and again that they are the only power allowed, where-as power used to come from numberous places before. What was given freedom & choice comes to lose it: that's a de-facto loss of independence, which is the only form of loss possible in an absolutist country that reserves all power for the party.

This isnt a word gymnastics at all. It's a shift, a change. PBOC was less independent than many, but they stood up, tried to take action, tried to prevent defaults & dodge colossal amounts of incoming economic damage, and Beijing seeing this has responded & reigned in PBOC some.
