As a "solution" to global warming, we need a lot more development before this works. Or at least different economic incentives.
$800 to remove a ton of CO2 from the atmosphere is very expensive, considering that buying the 100 gallons of gasoline that would release that CO2 costs only about $300 today.
Can that gap be bridged in a decade? Hopefully.

We are now at 413. Life thrived even at 4000 ppm so there is no need to remove it.
Plants need at least 150 ppm to survive. So, you want us to reduce CO2 and brings us closer to that dangerous level? If plants die, we will too. You know that, right?
