On Vanguard and other sites, and electronic signature is a web page that says "Type your name and click Agree to electronically sign this transaction", or something to that effect. It's a one-time electronic signature.
With Docusign, you have to create and account with them, they make this goofy fake signature image, and you have to agree that this goofy image they store on their servers is your legal signature. It's a _stored_ electronic signature.
I have no problem with one-time electronic signatures and do them alot. But I refuse to use Docusign's stored electronic signature. Edward Jones uses them and so does Carvana. Carvana lost a sale to me in the 5 minutes before they were going to deliver a car to me because they said in the beginning I wouldn't have to use Docusign, and at the tail end said I would, or they couldn't deliver the car. I told them to keep it. Carvana also forces you to take a selfie holding your driver's license before they will deliver a car, which is completely stupid to me. And they won't delete any data they acquire, including images of your driver's license, unless you live in CA.
