Many countries do currently mandate strict laws that take away a lot of liberties. Australia, Canada, Europe, parts of US. Are they still democracies?

The article is about Germany, the person you replied to made no specific mention of the US as far as I can tell, and their view is not unusual in many other regions of the world (such as the one I live in). Does the radicalism of Fox News really need more attention or notoriety?
