Go get your vaccine, especially with Omicron

She makes claims about the vaccine's effectiveness against Omicron when the data isn't in yet about that variant. It's only been a few days.

She also says "vaccines reduce an incredible amount of transmission too" and links to her post about how the vaccine provides sterilizing immunity. She says the immune system of vaccinated people will "quickly destroy" the virus, and "the vaccinated doesn’t become contagious".

I'd suggest the word "incredible" has no place in public health science publications. When used to describe viral transmission risk, in an article titled "go get your vaccine", we're basically in pro-vax propaganda territory.

Obviously the virus still spreads among fully vaccinated people. Data from around the world is showing high transmission in high vaccination areas. Avoidance of serious illness is the vaccine's main act, not reducing transmission.

Describing transmission protection as "incredible" could do more harm than good. The vaccinated may run around dancing and singing on the assumption they have incredible protection, and the assumption the vaccine is zapping the virus dead on impact. Good times. If only that were true.

Vaccine may not be a silver bullet for prevention but it keeps people out of the ICU.
