Remember this? Stick figure fighting

Yes, it's what first got me into programming.

Back in the early 2000s I saw videos like this, got myself flash, and made animations myself. I used to hang out in forums where people would make stick figure animations. We all had dreams of being animators.

I was ok at it, but I still had Flash, and Flash had ecma script, and people made games. So I started making games and learning to program. There was also game maker or rpg maker or something like that, and that also had scripting to do incredible things which inspired me.

Of course I had already messed around with making websites, html, css, early js, and geocities for a few years by then, but I credit Flash for really getting me into programming.
