Sudden cardiac death in young people with apparently normal heart (2001)

If true, it's worrying. As ever, best to keep one's powder dry and wait for more data to come in. I haven't seen the initial report yet.
Here's the clip:

There's recently been a swathe of deaths in the fitness industry but in that space it's clearer to see, every other guy is on TRT and half of them at least admit it. There's a running strain of Roganism as well, that healthy people don't need the vaccine and the elite athletes might suffer in some unknown way from it.
With the small numbers talked about it’s probably just a statistical blip combined with these people having a high public profile. As the article notes whilst it’s rare it does happen.
For example in this same period as these footballers I had a heart attack whilst exercising. Whilst at 39 I’m older it’s still very young. I am also pretty fit and have no obvious physical heart problems. So right now the doctors think I just got unlucky. No steroid or drug use on my part either. This was also prior to getting vaccinated and contracting Covid.
The reason this is catching attention is that there's a big jump in the number of athletes suddenly collapsing or retiring from sports due to cardiac issues. The number I've seen is 6x, which was based on comparing verified reports so far this year with an academic paper from the early 2000s that provided baseline numbers. 6x is a lot.
I mean, it could be a coincidental cluster, it could be that footballers are reaching a limit in terms of fitness that we'll now see more of this, it could be… anything. Again, more investigation is needed.
As to the link between increased heart problems, like the doctor in the link I shared, I've previously argued that it could be due to lockdown, things like people staying away from hospitals, getting access to doctors, sitting at home too much etc. I'm also keeping in mind that, as we're always reminded, these type of events occur more due to COVID-19 than the vaccines, so it's possible that the vaccines are producing cardiac problems that the disease would've produced but the vaccine came first.
Basically, I can see a lot of possibilities and want to keep an open mind, and I certainly don't want to get into either of the politically driven sides that have formed around this virus.
I've seen multiple posts about young adult heart failure being passed around in anti-vax forums. "This never happens! They just got the vaccine!", and all I can do is shake my head. The best part is sometimes people post pictures of a young adult who passed away from heart failure in spring of 2019 and try to blame mRNA vaccines still.
Because of her age an autopsy was required-- which couldn't find any reason for the death other than it was a cardiac event.
